Seeing Red

If you&rsquo;re a salon-assisted ginger, you might&rsquo;ve noticed that your bright auburn lessens in intensity after a month or so. You&rsquo;re not imagining things.  When exposed to water, all dye molecules diffuse out of the hair a bit. But, since red ones are smaller than brown or black molecules, they slip away faster (blondes don&rsquo;t have to worry about shade fade &ndash; bleaching removes melanin altogether, so there&rsquo;s no hue to lose). This is one myth we wish was false!
